The Secret – When You Can Walk On Water , Take The Boat ( Part 13 )

Filed under: Kitchen, Newsletters — yourow @ 9:51 am

The professor who organized the lecture arranged for me to see June a short while later. It was one of the most amazing visits I’d ever had with anyone. Without having seen me before or knowing anything about my past, she told me about my job, my family and where and how I lived. She said that in less than six months I would have a new job, but that I shouldn’t be concerned about it.

It would be the birth of something wonderful for me, but she said, like all births it would be painful for a short while. She continued for almost an hour telling me about my past, present and future and touched on things that only I could know. While she was speaking, she seemed to be in another world. Her voice was soft and peaceful. Then as our meeting ended, she gave me her phone number and said, “I would really like to meet you again. You and your wife should come visit soon.”And so, we did a few months later.

We soon became very good friends. Many of the things she foretold began to take place. In less than six months I’d lost my job when the company moved to another state. Although I remained unemployed for a while before finding another position,I used the time to start my own small, parttime business. Since then, many things changed for the better. The companygrew and diversified. We movedfrom our apartment into a house and then a few years later into a much larger one.

Throughout the years, June remained a constant friend and advisor. Every six months or so, between her radio shows or television interviews, she would visit us for a week or two. These visits were always very special.By this time, Mardai and I were the parents of two beautiful children and June would spend hours with them.

Little Malika was a favorite of June’s and Jonathan would keep her busy for hours. So it was with joy and excitement that we were, once again, awaiting June’s arrival. We had not seen her in almost six months so, there would be much to talk about. We were now totally used to her strange abilities and hardly questioned them at all. We had certainly seen enough over the years to know that she had that rare “gift of seeing.”

I wondered what Gideon was doing. With June’s arrival, I’d almost completely forgotten about him. At the dinner table, June told us about her most recent television interview. It was always interesting listening to her describe these events. Although she would give readings to anyone, her clientele also included some wellknown public figures. Movie stars, politicians and high level business leaders consulted with her on a regular basis.

A short while later, with the children tucked into bed, June, Mardai and I retired to the family room. Our house was built in the shape of an “H” with the sleeping area occupying one side. The living rooms–there were two–were located in the center of the “H” and the kitchen, dining room and family room were on the other side. Because the family room was completely separated from the bedrooms, it was possible for us to talk and laugh to our hearts’content without disturbing the children who were sleeping peacefully.

French Style Kitchen Decorating Ideas

Filed under: Home Accessories, Ideas, Kitchen — yourow @ 10:21 pm

Kitchens are the heart of the home and it is important to have a beautiful and comfortable place to meet and greet as well as cook and serve meals. Including so many functions in one room can be difficult to design, but it is definitely doable. All you have to do is consider how to design your French style kitchen so that it complements your china dinnerware and your casual dinnerware. Once you have the basic style down and the color scheme then you will be much better off and more prepared to continue with your design plans. A good example for a French style kitchen is to have a plaque hand painted on tile with the word “kitchen” painted in French. This will add a unique flair to the kitchen and will look nice hanging on a wall. In addition, you can buy French antiques to decorate the kitchen with and really pull off the design scheme. Of course, if you can’t afford real antiques you can buy replicas or other French inspired items that do fir in your budget.

An interesting idea is to paint the walls of your kitchen a bright, cheery color that reflects the colors in your dinnerware. Then, find some old French dishes, prints, or antiques or some of all of the above that you can hang on the wall. This will reflect the French style and will certainly be a unique alternative compared to many other design options you have. Of course, if you don’t like that particular idea then you can go with different designs that will give you the kitchen of your dreams.

You could look up kitchen designs on French websites to see what is in style today and what the French are using to decorate their homes and kitchens. You can find special painting techniques and the like that will influence you to come up with a unique French design all your own to use in your kitchen. Just make sure that while you are designing your kitchen you make it elegant enough to complement your Waterford crystals. But, if you don’t have any Waterford crystals you can decide to buy some since they are a great investment or else you may design your kitchen in a more laid back fashion.
